Mercedes-Benz has recently debuted its latest edition to the AMG lineup, the all-new S63 AMG Coupe.  With a fresh set of lines on the outside, plenty of power under the hood and a luxurious interior, the sports car lives up to the high expectations the automaker has set fourth.

Mercedes-AMG GmbH Chairman of the Board of Management Tobias Moers says “The new S63 AMG Coupe is another exciting AMG dream car in the luxury segment. Now the S-Class Coupe also comes with the option of performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive – as we rigorously pursue our all-wheel-drive initiative. Mercedes-AMG is putting the pedal to the metal again in the new year. Our model initiative is set to continue at blistering pace in 2014.”

The new S63 AMG Coupe is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo that produces 585 hp and just over 663 lb-ft of torque coupled with an AMG speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission. It has an electronically governed top speed that comes in right below 125mph, and hits 0-62mph in anywhere form 3.9 to 4.3 seconds, depending upon the variant.

Additional improvements from its predecessor include a 143-lb weight reduction, thanks to the lithium-ion battery; standard AMG forged lightweight alloy wheels, a lighter set of breaks and all aluminum body. In addition to the weight reduction it also boasts an average of 23 mpg, a curving tilting function that improves handling and performance and it offers both rear and all wheel drive.

On the inside, Mercedes-Benz fitted the luxury sports car with a new set of sport seats, nappa leather, a new three spoke AMG sports steering wheel and a standard touch pad to make operating the vehicle’s functions easier and safer.

Mercedes-Benz is also offering an “Edition 1” that adds Swarovski crystals to the head lights and high gloss black wood trim and comes standard with Night View Assist Plus.

The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe will be available in September.
