Are you in the market for a very expensive and luxurious high-performance coupe? Well, the team at SpeedList is here to help you make a decision. We decided to take a look at the all-new Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe vs the BMW M6 Coupe. Both are German; both are expensive; and both are extremely powerful. Let’s take a look.
Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe (Starting Price: $TBA – estimated at $180,000):
- Engine: 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8
- Performance: 577-hp / 664 lb-ft
- Transmission: AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission
- 0-60mph: 3.9 seconds
- Top Speed: TBA
BMW M6 Coupe (Starting Price: $111,900):
- Engine: 4.4-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo V8
- Performance: 560-hp / 500 lb-ft
- Transmission: 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission
- 0-60mph: 4.1 seconds
- Top Speed: 155 mph.
At this point you’re probably thinking that with such a huge price difference between the to, the M6 Coupe would be a no-brainer. In a perfect world, if BMW ever brings back the 8 Series and finally decides to offer an M8, that would be the head-on competitor to the S63 AMG Coupe. However, since BMW is too busy building 10 variation of each model in its lineup, that may not happen anytime soon. For now, the M6 Coupe is the closest BMW competitor to the S63 AMG Coupe. In our opinion, if money is no object, we recommend the S63 AMG Coupe hands-down. However, if you’re trying to save close to $70,000, the BMW M6 Coupe will leave you more than satisfied.
