For 2015 Mercedes-Benz is offering up a heavily revised version of it’s CLS-Class. The model offers plenty of new features from inside to out, and from safety to performance.

Power for CLS400 comes from a new 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6 that produces 329hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, while the CL550 gets 402hp and 443 lb-ft of torque from a 4.6-liter V8 bi-turbo. The latter is mated to the world’s first 9-speed automatic transmission, which is more fuel efficient and provides a smoother ride than its 7-speed predecessor, and transfers power to the rear wheels.

Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the exterior refresh is the new multibeam LED headlamps. The lighting systems adapts to a variety of driving and traffic situations automatically to best distribute its illumination. Additonal exterior features include a long hood narrow window line fameless side windows, downward sloping rood, revised chrome grille, front bumper with larger air intakes and mildly tinted tail lamps.

“With the CLS Coupe and the CLS Shooting Brake we have built design icons which also set the pulse racing faster in their latest incarnation courtesy of their enthralling lines. With new high-tech ingredients such as the innovative MULTIBEAM LED headlamps which start a new chapter in lighting design, the nine-speed automatic transmission or the progressive multimedia system, both models also define new cutting-edge technology.” — Prof Dr Thomas Weber
