At the 2014 New York Auto Show last month, Acura unveiled its all-new TLX model, designed to be a meeting point for luxury and performance. Built with a new chassis, handling technologies and powertrains, the TLX has a lot to offer.

“Harnessing the exhilarating power of new engines, new highly-efficient transmissions and next-generation dynamics technology- blended perfectly with impeccable style and luxury – the TLX will deliver a thrill like no other,” said Senior Vice President and General Manager of Acura, Mike Accavitti. “Both the considerable performance and capabilities of the TLX and the serious energy and resources brought to the brand from the newly dedicated Acura team herald the start of a new era for Acura.”

Two power options for the Acura TLX are available. First up is a 206hp inline 4-cylinder mated to an 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. It features automatic rev-matching on downshifts and has a torque converter for smooth shifting and stopping. Next is a 290hp 3.5-liter coupled with a 9-speed automatic, which comes with variable cylinder management, a system that deactivates 3 of the 6 cylinders at higher speeds for greater fuel economy.

Performance enhancements also include Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and Precision All-Wheel Steer.

Acura fitted the interior of the TLX with Bluetooth, Pandora, Aha, HD Radio, Acura Navigation with 3D view, AcuraLink Real-Time traffic, AcuraLink (the automaker’s cloud-based system), Siri Eyes Free for iPhone integration, a 7-inch display, Multiview Rear Camera, 10 Way adjustable driver’s memory seat, heated and cooled front seats, electronic gear selector, remote engine start, rain sensing wipers and noise dampening acoustic foam.

The TLX also has plenty of safety features, such as collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot indicator and lane keeping system.

A new exterior design featuring Acura’s signature grille and a set of LED headlights are featured for the exterior. No production date has been listed so far, but you can put your name on Acura’s wait list on the automaker’s website for more information.
