Luxury automakers are finally offering some affordable entry-level sedans for consumers that are looking to look and feel a little flashy but are still on a budget. The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class kicked off the trend in 2013 with many Honda Accord and Toyota Camry buyers flocking to dealerships to trade in their Japanese sedans for a luxurious German sedan – despite the dramatic size trade-off. Audi and BMW have also joined the mix with the Audi A3 and the BMW 2-Series. Let’s have a look.

Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class ($29,990): The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class was a huge success for the German brand. As an entry-level luxury Mercedes, the CLA-Class starts at just $29,900. Power comes from a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo making 208 horsepower allowing it to run from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds.

Audi A3: The all-new Audi A3 sedan also starts at $29,900. The A3 comes with two engine choices including a 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine making 170-hp and 200 lb-ft of torque with 0 to 60 mph coming in 7.2 seconds. The A3 also comes with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine making 220-hp and a maximum torque of 258 lb-ft. 0 to 60 mph comes in 5.8 seconds.

BMW 2-Series ($32,100): While the BMW 2 Series is only a coupe, a sedan version should follow eventually. The BMW 2 Series is the most expensive one out of the bunch here with prices starting at $32,100 for the 228i. The 228i is powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine making 240-hp allowing 0 to 60 mph to come 5.4 seconds. The $43,100 BMW M235i is powered by a 3.0 liter TwinPower turbo engine making 320-hp allowing 0 to 60 mph to come in 4.8 seconds.
